Realme Just Introduced Its 320W Charging; 4 Minutes to 100%

Realme is a Chinese manufacturer that has placed itself pretty firmly in the lead when it comes to smartphones that offer a lot of value for a relatively low price. On top of that, the company hasn’t been afraid to innovate in the realms that it can reach.

Speaking of innovation, Realme has just put its name into the history books with the fastest charging technology intended for smartphones — and they actually have the fastest charging in a production smartphone. 320W is a lot, and unsurprisingly, it’ll charge to full in less than 5 minutes.

Realme’s SuperSonic Charge Tech Is The Fastest Smartphone Charging Technology In The World

Realme has been teasing us with a new breakthrough in mobile charging and it’s finally here. Dubbed SuperSonic Charge, Realme has demonstrated the power of 320W smartphone charging for the first time ever. That’s crazy. Sure, Redmi demonstrated 300W charging years back but it never made it to a phone. Considering Realme has a phone with 240W charging, SuperSonic Charge might actually make it to a phone.

So you understand what’s going on, Realme’s SuperSonic Charge has made it possible for a smartphone with a 4,400 mAh cell to be charged from 0 to 100% in a mere 4 minutes and 30 seconds. That’s incredible and it’ll certainly make charging your smartphone far from a chore. Your device could be fully charged in the time it’ll take you to dress up for a day on the town. Realme is quite conceitedly calling this the “4-minute miracle”.

In fact, with just a single minute, you get a 26% charge, and in less than two minutes, your phone is already halfway to full. Realme has named its 320W dual-port power adapter “Pocket Cannon”. That’s apt.

This Might Be The Reasonable Pinnacle For Charging

If you ask me, charging doesn’t need to get any faster than this. Who needs a full charge faster than 5 minutes? Plus, 320W is a substantial power draw and the higher it gets, the less compatible these chargers become.

I have a little power bank at home that has an AC socket, but it only supports up to 120W devices. I wouldn’t be able to use such a power-hungry charger with that. I’m happy to see what Realme has done here, but I think it is safe to give it a break now.

Realme Has Put A Safety Measure In Place For This Unprecedented Charging Speed

Safety is a massive concern every time I hear these faster and faster charging speeds. After all, brands like Samsung, Google, and Sony, seem to shy away from lightning-fast charging and safety might be their concern in their regard.

However, Realme has put some things in place. For instance, the AirGap Voltage Transformer helps keep the high voltage away from the battery in the event that there’s any kind of circuit breakdown. It also helps with thermal management.

We should assume that Realme has tested this to great measure. We’ve done exploding phones before and we don’t want to go back there.
