Govee Reveals Smart Lights for Every Corner of Your Home

Govee has revealed the new Strip Light 2 Pro and COB Strip Light Pro at the 2024 IFA in Berlin, Germany. It also unveiled a new ceiling projector, a new AI Sync Box Kit, and a bundle for festive lighting decoration while updating its Curtain Light and other smart lights.

The Strip Light 2 Pro is Govee’s new LED strip lighting featuring 5-in-1 RGBWW light beads and a custom chip for precise control, especially when rendering lighter shades, to create subtle lighting. With up to ten independently controlled sections per meter, 100+ built-in presets, and 16 music modes, this lighting system can create cool personalized lighting effects “seamlessly transitioning from cozy nights to vibrant holiday festivities.” The Strip Light 2 Pro supports the Matter protocol for easy integration with your smart home scenes, automations, and voice control via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

Govee’s first COB lighting, the COB Strip Light Pro packs RGBICW LEDs. A COB LED, or chip-on-board LED, emits bright white light and is often used for recessed or track lighting in stores. The COB Strip Light Pro outputs a spotless and diffused light. It has 12 independently customizable segments per meter, and you can trim it to a desired length.

You can create your own lighting presets in the Govee Home App by adjusting colors, brightness, effects, and modes. It also supports Amazon’s and Google’s assistants and works with the Matter standard. There’s also the Curtain Light 2, an improved version featuring Govee’s “first AI-generated content integration” to customize your own DIY light show.

The Star Light Projector (Aurora) is another new release. Govee’s existing Galaxy Light Projector Pro visualizes space themes on your bedroom ceiling. The new projector floods your wall or ceiling with the Northern Lights scenes and features an integrated speaker with 16+ white noise presets. The Star Light Projector can cover up to 650 square feet of space with three flowing effects and offers 50+ presets ranging from daily relaxation to quiet sleep.

There’s also the Holiday Lights Collection, a bundle comprising five different products suitable for festive lighting decoration: the Christmas String Lights 2, Icicle Lights, Net Lights, Christmas Cone Lights, and Christmas Tree Lights. All products included in this bundle have an IP65 waterproof rating, support hands-free operation via Govee’s Home app and voice assistants, and are compatible with Matter. We’ve asked Govee whether any of these products support integration with Apple’s Siri and its Home app, and will update when we hear back.

Govee also announced the AI Sync Box Kit , which can animate lighting for gaming. It’s equipped with HDMI 2.1 and supports 4K at 144 Hz gameplay with dynamic lighting synchronization and up to 8K resolution at 60Hz. The box is compatible with video syncing technologies like VRR, G-Sync, FreeSync, and ALLM. Other perks include RGBWIC four-in-one lamp beads, 75 lamps/m TV backlight strip, and what Govee calls “the highest lamp bead density in the industry.” You can sign up to receive “exclusive notifications” when this product launches.

The Strip Light 2 Pro and COB Strip Light Pro will be available to order from Tuesday, September 10. The Star Light Projector (Aurora) will be available from Saturday, September 14. The new Christmas String Lights 2, Icicle Lights, and AI Sync Box Kit 2 will be available starting September 25, September 29, and October 14, respectively.
