Samsung’s next big tablet is on the horizon, and it’s bringing some not-so-interesting changes. A leaked image of the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra suggests that the brand isn’t straying far from the design of the Tab S9 Ultra. The familiar notch for the front camera and dual rear cameras are still in play, and it looks like the overall size might stay the same too.
As we reported previously, Samsung is also cutting out the base 11-inch model leaving us with just the Plus and Ultra versions. If you thought you couldn’t afford the tablets before, you certainly will be breaking the bank for them now. In a surprising twist, Samsung might also ditch the usual Snapdragon processor for a MediaTek chip this time around.
Tech industry expert and leaker, Evan Blass has shared a render of the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra on his X account. It appears that Samsung is sticking to what works for them, and who can blame them? The image shows that the device will keep the familiar notch at the top of the 14.6-inch display for the front camera.
Thankfully, the bezels are uniform and won’t trigger your OCD. On the bottom of the tablet, when you hold it in landscape mode, there are small magnetic pogo pins and notches for you to attach the official keyboard accessory. The back of the tablet looks almost identical to the Tab S9 Ultra, with a metal finish and dual cameras stacked vertically. Plus, there’s a designated area where the S Pen stylus stays.
Where things get interesting is in the absence of a Snapdragon chipset. Qualcomm’s chipsets are to Samsung as Intel’s processors are to Dell computers. When they’re not using a Snapdragon, they’re using their own Exynos processors. This is the first we’ll see Samsung using a MediaTek (Dimensity 9300+) chip in one of its top-tier tablets.
Other than this new processor, don’t expect a lot of major changes compared to the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. The Galaxy Tab S10 series should drop in October, possibly alongside the much-anticipated Galaxy S24 FE.
45W charging, 12GB RAM, and Android 14 await you
The Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra will keep the 45W fast charging that its predecessor had. In memory, expect at least 12GB of RAM. It looks like these tablets will be hitting the global market, including India, pretty soon. But it will come with Android 14 and One UI 6.1.1 out of the box.
It should get the standard four years of Android updates, so you can upgrade to Android 15 when it’s out. The OS is finally ready and Google has released it to the Android Open Source Project.
For now, it’s primarily for developers and contains the source code that you need to build and test your apps or create custom versions of Android. Once Google officially releases the OS to the public, you’ll be able to upgrade your devices through regular software updates.
Note: The features mentioned in this post remain unconfirmed, and are subject to change as Samsung updates its plans for the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra’s release.
