Here Are The First Leaked Renders For The Galaxy S25 Ultra

2025 is still more than a full quarter away from us but it isn’t too early to say that the Galaxy S25 Ultra might arguably be the most anticipated device of the year — and an easy candidate for Phone of the Year awards across as many smartphone publications as there are.

Despite its launch being due for next year, the leaks have already started rolling in, and the wind brings us a big leak courtesy of OnLeaks and Android Headlines. This is our first real look at the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, confirming one major design change that was rumored.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Is Going To Round Out Those Iconic Sharp Corners

The Samsung Galaxy S Ultra devices have looked the same for the last three iterations, with minor tweaks here and there. To me, it is a fantastic design. For others, it’s a form-over-function aesthetic that hurts to hold. Either stance you take, the people crave a change of some kind; they want to buy a new flagship that feels fresh. Next year, that will come. It’s nothing radical, but it is still more of a change than in previous years.

As you can see from the render above, the S25 Ultra is going to make one major change, and that’s rounding out the corners of the device. I hardly think that it makes the device less recognizable, but it certainly will remove the more aggressive appeal that the previous design had. I don’t think anyone will be passing on the phone because of this though, and it’ll certainly make it more comfortable to hold.

Other changes that we can spot include thicker bezels around the rear cameras and a completely flat frame all around — the S25 Ultra’s frame was flat at the top and bottom, but the sides had a little bit of curvature to them. It’s been whispered that the back panel will meet the sides with a curve while the screen will be flat, but we can’t particularly see that here.

It’s also been confirmed that the phone will weigh 219 grams, making it 13 grams lighter than the current Ultra phone. It is also expected to be narrower and slimmer (8.2mm) thanks to thinner bezels.

We Can Expect The New Flagship Snapdragon Chip And A Better Ultrawide Camera

When it comes to the hardware improvements that we can expect inside the phone, there aren’t too many to get excited over. We all know that the newest Snapdragon chip is going to be inside the S25 Ultra if last year’s release is anything to go by — that’ll be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 by that point. The ultrawide camera is also expected to be upgraded to a 50MP unit, which is an upgrade we’ve been craving for a long time.

However, besides those, don’t expect any drastic improvements in other domains. It seems that the battery will stay stagnant at 5,000 mAh and the charging won’t go past the 45W standard that Samsung seems so comfortable with. The rest of the cameras won’t change and I expect the already-excellent screen to stay that way.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 and S24 series both launched in January of their respective years, and all signs point to that remaining the same in 2025.
