Pages, Keynote, and Numbers have all received updates.
Following the release of iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia to the public, Apple has issued updates to its iWork suite to match, with iPad getting Apple Pencil Pro additions.
On Monday, Apple released its long-awaited updates to its operating systems, following their WWDC introduction. One day later, and it’s brought out updates to Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.
The iWork updates, appearing in the App Store for iOS and the Mac App Store, aren’t as extensive as their operating system counterparts. Indeed, for Pages and Numbers for macOS, the 14.2 update for each lists the update as containing “bug fixes and performance improvements.”
Keynote on macOS has more alterations for its 14.2 release, with the version history explaining that HDR images and movies are displayed in a greater dynamic range on supported displays. Users can also play their slideshow during a FaceTime call or video conference, with the presentation window automatically being shared.
Both of these changes are listed as requiring macOS Sequoia for them to work.
For the iOS and iPadOS releases, Numbers and Pages have the same notes. It allows users of the Apple Pencil Pro to switch tools, line weights, and colors by squeezing the stylus.
The apps also include a new document browser to create new documents or find existing ones. This is a change that requires iOS 18 or iPadOS 18.
Keynote for iOS and iPadOS too includes the Apple Pencil Pro squeeze support. There’s also the support of HDR images and videos “on supported devices” when using iOS 18 or iPadOS 18.
Lastly, Keynote users can advance their slides hands-free using a double-tap gesture on supported Apple Watch models. This requires watchOS 11 to work.
