If you need the flexibility to get the most out of your microphone or webcam, you need a dedicated arm for mounting.
There are plenty of options for mic arms, especially from generic brands, but the guarantee of quality and compatibility that comes from an established company can’t often be passed up. AVerMedia‘s FLEXI go (BA311L) is a great example, with a durable and highly practical design that provides a ton of adjustability to suit any setup.
This is a great mounting solution, but it has one fatal flaw — it simply costs too much. You wouldn’t expect your mic arm to cost a fair bit more than the microphone you attach to it, but the AVerMedia FLEXI go is more expensive than its recording counterpart.

FLEXI go review: Pricing and specifications
Pricing highlights
- The AVerMedia FLEXI go (BA311L) mic arm retails for $99.99, making it one of the more expensive mounting solutions.
- For reference, the AVerMedia VERSATI go microphone only costs $69.99, so you’re paying a lot more just to have more positioning options.
If you look online, you can find any number of generic yet functional microphone and webcam caster arms for around $40-50, with the option to spend more if you desire a name-brand alternative with a sleeker design or more features. The AVerMedia FLEXI go has the former but lacks a lot of the latter, with the AVerMedia name carrying a guarantee of quality, but not the promise of a great value.
The AVerMedia FLEXI go (BA311L) mic arm retails for $99.99 at Amazon, making it one of the more expensive in the category. However, you’re getting a very analog design with no spring assistance or sleek and smooth hinges. AVerMedia positions the FLEXI go as a great companion to the AVerMedia VERSATI go (AM310G2) microphone that costs $69.99 at Amazon, but this product doesn’t feel like you should be paying so much.
In the box, you’ll find the AVerMedia FLEXI go (BA311L) microphone arm and c-clamp mount, and two Velcro straps for cable management. This product is covered by a 30-day limited warranty.
FLEXI go review: The good
The pros highlights
- The FLEXI go is well-built, with a sturdy aluminum construction and wide compatibility with different microphones and webcams.
- You also get a wide range of adjustability, although it does rely on a very manual screw system.
The AVerMedia FLEXI go (BA311L) microphone arm is broken into two parts — the two-part aluminum tubing and the c-clamp for mounting to your desk or table. Construction is excellent, with no part of the FLEXI go feeling cheap or flimsy, a positive side effect of such an industrial design.
The c-clamp mount provides a solid amount of leeway for adjusting to different desks (up to 55mm), the total package is relatively light (964.9g), gives you a little over two feet of length, and supports up to 1.5kg in weight. Standard 1/4-inch mounting support (with a 5/8-inch thread adapter in the box) means the FLEXI go will be compatible with most mics and cameras.
When you attach your microphone or webcam, you’ll find you have an excellent amount of adjustability in three places. The arm connects to the c-clamp with a 360-degrees ball joint, the arm is hinged in the center with 180-degrees of movement, and there’s a second ball joint at the end of the arm to provide 360-degrees of adjustability for your connected accessory.
There are also two basic Velcro straps in the box to help secure the cable for your mic or camera to the FLEXI go. It’s an extremely practical design that trades refinement for simplicity, and once you’ve made your adjustments the FLEXI go (BA311L) is rock solid — there’s very little give, and everything stays perfectly in place over time.
FLEXI go review: The bad
The cons highlights
- By far the biggest flaw with the FLEXI go is its price tag, which feels far too high for the product you’re getting.
- Yes, the build quality is there, but other offerings in this range are more refined and fluid.
The AVerMedia FLEXI go mic arm is on the small side, and folds easily for traveling, but its usability is that of a much more affordable mic arm (and its range is limited).
There is no spring assistance or smooth hinges here — every minute adjustment has to be made manually and with two hands. It’s practical but utilitarian, and doesn’t reflect the price you’re paying.
In this price range, you can find mic arms that look better, are easier to adjust, and even have more features like integrated cable management or any form of shock absorption. The BA311L just can’t compete on the design front, and it feels especially odd when it costs more than the microphone AVerMedia positions alongside it.
When you can find functional mic arms for literally a quarter of the price, the FLEXI go becomes hard to justify.
FLEXI go review: Final thoughts
You should buy this if …
✅You want a compact mic arm with solid build quality
The FLEXI go breaks down into two parts, and the actual arm folds neatly in half for quick transport. It’s a compact design and the aluminum construction is sturdy.
✅You don’t mind trading convenience for more permanent adjustments
The best mic arms (and monitor arms, for that matter) are designed for quick and easy adjustments, but that does mean the potential for gradual drifting or falling. The FLEXI go stubbornly resists change, but it’s a lot more of a pain to adjust when you need to.
You should not buy this if …
❌You’re looking for a great value
If all you need is a practical and reliable arm to mount your microphone or webcam, chances are excellent that you can find an equivalent to the FLEXI go for far less than what you’d pay here.
As a product, I honestly have few complaints about the AVerMedia FLEXI go (BA311L) mic arm. Many of its weaknesses are simply byproducts of its design, with its competitors being the inverse.
All of those compromises are cast in a harsh light when you’re paying $100 just to mount your microphone or webcam, though, and that price tag stings even more if you look at the most popular microphone and webcam mounting solutions. I reviewed the AVerMedia VERSATI go (AM310G2) microphone, and it’s a genuinely phenomenal value at just $69.99 at Amazon.
On the other hand, the BA311L retails for $30 more, or $99.99 at Amazon, making it a surprisingly costly purchase considering this product’s positioning. It’d be an easy recommendation at half the price, but as it stands, this is a very good microphone mounting arm that you’re probably better off avoiding (unless you really like this design approach).
