Apple to stream FireAid Benefit Concert in support of LA wildfire relief

Later this month, a FireAid Benefit Concert is being held in support of the victims of the Los Angeles wildfires. Headlined by the likes of Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, Dave Matthews, and Katy Perry, the concert aims to raise donations for wildfire relief efforts.

Bloomberg now reports that the FireAid Benefit Concert will be streamed on all major streaming services, including Apple TV+.

The organizers of the event are aiming to make it as accessible as possible, therefore increasing exposure and donations. Notably, Netflix won’t stream the event on its streaming services, but rather to its nearly 30 million subscribers on YouTube.

Lucas Shaw reports:

Netflix Inc., Amazon.com Inc., Paramount Global, Apple Inc. and Warner Bros. Discovery Inc. will all show the event on their streaming services, part of a consortium of more than a dozen companies. The concert will also be shown in select AMC theaters and made available on the radio and music streaming sites as well. The concert will take place on Jan. 30. Tickets go sale eight days earlier.

More details on the FireAid Benefit Concert from the organization’s website:

Join us for an evening of music and solidarity. The FireAid benefit concert will be held at Intuit Dome and Kia Forum on January 30th dedicated to rebuilding communities that have been devastated by wildfires. Contributions made to FireAid in connection with the FireAid benefit concert and other direct donations will be distributed under the advisement of the Annenberg Foundation and will be distributed for short-term relief efforts and long-term initiatives to prevent future fire disasters throughout Southern California. The Annenberg Foundation, with decades of philanthropic leadership in our community, including rapid response, will help coordinate a team to direct funds for the greatest impact

This is just one of the things Apple is doing to support the victims of the Los Angeles wildfires. The company itself made a donation to relief efforts, while simultaneously making it incredibly easy for Apple users to donate via the App Store and Apple Music.
