Clicks is Making Physical Keyboards for Android Phones

Some people feel nostalgic about those old BlackBerry phones that featured, among other things, physical keyboards. If you miss that feel, Clicks cases have been a good choice for iPhone users, and now they’re coming for some Android phones as well.

Clicks is releasing its physical keyboard accessory for select Android smartphones. The company’s iPhone keyboards are one of the most popular niche accessories out there, and if you’ve been waiting for Android equivalents, these might be the ones you’ve been waiting for. The initial Android lineup includes compatibility with Google Pixel, Motorola Razr+, and Samsung Galaxy devices. More specifically, the keyboard will be available for the Galaxy S25 series, the Google Pixel 9 and 9 Pro, and the Motorola Razr+ 2024. There’s tons of other Android phones out there, sure, but these are likely the most popular flagship models, which is likely the company’s first priority.

Clicks aims to address demand from Android users seeking an accessory like this one. By adding a physical keyboard to your smartphone, you get increased screen real estate, navigation shortcuts, and potentially more precise typing. On the other hand, you also get a considerably taller phone, so it’s a matter of choosing your poison.

The key features of the Clicks keyboard include ergonomically designed keys, metal dome switches for tactile feedback, and backlighting for visibility in various lighting conditions. Clicks claims that it’s going for fast and accurate typing with this keyboard—I personally type faster on on-screen keyboards than tiny physical keyboards these days, but if that’s not the case for you, maybe you’ll want to check this out.

The physical design features brushed metal side keys, a microfiber interior, and a custom-molded enclosure tailored to each specific phone model. All three models use pass-through USB-C charging. In the case of specific models, like the Pixel 9 and the Pixel 9 Pro, we’ll also have wireless charging.

The keyboard will be available from the Clicks website for $139, but you can snag a discount on certain models if you reserve yours today. The Pixel keyboards will ship by April, the Motorola keyboards will ship by May, and the Samsung ones will ship by June.
