Tecno Shows Off Its Vision for Its AI Ecosystem at MWC 2025

I’m very familiar with Tecno. I’ve spent most of my life in one of the smartphone manufacturer’s major markets, and my first Android phone was a Tecno, too. However, with enough time, I grew out of the budget smartphone class and eventually out of midrange options too. Unfortunately, Tecno doesn’t make flagships.

The company doesn’t let that stop them, though. Even though the brand doesn’t compete with the Google Pixel or Samsung Galaxy S lineups of the world, it doesn’t neglect the latest trends in the smartphone world. At MWC 2025 in Barcelona, the OEM has just given us all a look at its vision for its AI ecosystem, and all I can say is that it’s ambitious.

It doesn’t matter if you’re getting tired of hearing about AI or not. The OEMs aren’t getting tired of developing different AI devices and applications, so buckle in for the ride. At MWC 2025, Tecno has showcased its plans for its AI ecosystem, with multiple devices that rely on AI in one way or another. Let’s dive into them.

The Smartphones

The Tecno Camon 40 series of smartphones isn’t expected to be any more AI-laden than the average smartphone these days, which means quite a bit of AI functionality. You’ll find some of that AI magic sprinkled over camera functions as well as other aspects of the software involved with productivity and your daily convenience.

The brand is also showing off other smartphones like the Spark 30 series and its Phantom V2 foldables, all of which will also come with similar AI enhancements.

The Tecno Megabook S14 Laptop

You might not have known, but yes, Tecno makes laptops. The Megabook S14 is the Chinese OEM’s flagship laptop and it is pretty well designed. It is a 14-inch model, as its name gives away, but it is the lightest laptop of that size in the world. The laptop comes with a bunch of AI features, such as Ella AI—Tecno’s AI voice assistant.

The brand will also be launching the Megabook K15S and the Megabook T14 Air at the event.

The Tecno AI Glasses

This is the most interesting aspect of the bunch, especially as it falls out of the traditional device segments that we tend to find most companies in. The Tecno AI Glasses will come with an AR display like other smart glasses but also claims that it will bring “smartphone-grade” imaging to smart glasses. That’s a lofty claim.

Tecno Also Showed Off Some Of Its Concept Technology

If you’ve followed the brand long enough, you’ll know that Tecno isn’t afraid to try out some pretty daring concept devices. For instance, the Tecno Spark Slim smartphone is only 5.75mm thin but crams in a 5,200mAh with some sorcery. Then there’s the Tecno Phantom Ultimate 2, which is the company’s own attempt at a tri-fold.

It has also made improvements to its Universal Tone Technology, which was developed in order to make sure that your phone’s camera better represents your skin tone.
