Circular closes gap on Ring 2 and adds more capabilities
The original Circular Ring was already an interesting smart ring. It has a lightweight design, blood oxygen (SpO2) tracking, heart rate monitoring, sleep analysis, and stress tracking. All the basics you need to know what’s going on with your body and if anything is out of place.
It did have many shortcomings that made it less polished than Samsung’s and Oura’s rings. For one, it wasn’t a fully enclosed loop, and battery life wasn’t exceptional. But you can’t really complain since you’re not paying any subscription fees.
The Circular Ring 2 builds up on these areas and is now a fully enclosed titanium device. Onboard is also the electrocardiogram (ECG) feature with Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance for AFib detection, something the previous version lacked. Circular has also added a digital at-home sizing tool, which means more precise measurements and no more plastic sizing kits.

Sizing a smart ring is usually much trickier than sizing a smartwatch. Smartwatches typically have adjustable straps, but a smart ring must fit perfectly to work correctly. It must be snug enough to keep the sensors in place but not so tight that it’s uncomfortable or hard to remove.
The problem is that fingers swell and shrink throughout the day because of many factors. Your temperature, diet, and hydration patterns could change. Circular’s digital solution brings measurement works directly to your smartphone, and you can use its camera to capture finger size and shape.
Improved battery life on Circular Ring 2
The previous Circular Ring Slim had a poor battery life, lasting about two to five days, depending on how often you used it. It also didn’t have a dedicated charging case and relied on wired charging. This is odd for a smart ring when competitors have gone wireless since day one.
Thankfully, the Circular Ring 2 now uses a wireless charging case, and battery life has extended to seven days. Added to that is Women’s Health Suite and real-time atrial fibrillation (AFib) detection. The ring monitors your heart rhythm and identifies irregular heartbeats associated with AFib.
AFib is a condition in which the heart’s upper chambers beat out of sync with the lower chambers, which increases the risk of stroke and disease. The device also tracks sleep-stage analysis and provides AI-driven insights powered by Kira, Circular’s intelligent assistant.
Circular Ring 2 is accessible on Kickstarter
The Circular Ring 2 became available for pre-order on Kickstarter on March 5, 2025. Kickstarter is a website where companies raise money for a product before it is officially released. If you pre-order on the platform, you’re a backer because you’re supporting the project in advance.
Since Circular Ring 2 is still in development, the company is offering a discount of up to $310 to backers. Originally, the ring cost $549. When the campaign ends, shipping should begin in June 2025. You should receive your ring around that time. Regardless, the company has exceeded its goal with $355,907 more than its $10,000 goal from 1,437 backers.
