The JSAUX Charging Connector (a.k.a. Grip Connector) for Lenovo Legion Go is an accessory that makes it possible to unite the handheld’s two detached controller halves into a more traditional gamepad.
As the name implies, this accessory features a USB-C port to keep the controllers charged up, unlike some similar peripherals on the market.
For this review, I’ve been using the JSAUX Charging Connector for the last few days, both with my Legion Go in tabletop mode or connected to my JSAUX 6-in-1 TV docking station, to see how the controller accessory feels and performs.
While it could be improved upon slightly, this is one of the best Legion Go accessories that Legion Go owners should consider using. Here’s why.
JSAUX Grip Connector for Legion Go Controller: Price and availability
Just so you know, this accessory is labeled as “JSAUX Grip Connector for Legion Go Controller GP0503” on Amazon, but it is also called “Charging Connector for Legion Go Controller” on the JSAUX website and then “Lenovo Legion Go Portable Charging Grip” on the actual box that I received. Between those three titles, you can easily get the gist of what this gaming handheld peripheral is.
At either online retailer, the device sells for $19.99, although the JSAUX website claims it usually has a $25.99 MSRP.
There are a few different Legion Go controller connector accessories on Amazon. The ones without passthrough charging capabilities typically cost between $12 and $15, while the ones with a USB-C port tend to cost around $20, so this device is well-priced for what it offers.
JSAUX Grip Connector for Legion Go Controller: What’s good
Overall, I enjoy using the JSAUX Legion Go Charging Grip and have very few complaints.
I find that Lenovo‘s controller halves are easy to slip onto the accessory as well as easy to remove; just listen for the click when pushing them on or press the back button to release them.
It basically feels the same as popping the controllers on and off the handheld. That’s because connection points are found on the sides of the plastic casing. There are also rubber pads above and below these connection areas, which are likely to reduce wobbling.

While not perfectly flush, the accessory’s front casing looks good when connected to the controllers and doesn’t stand out in a bad way.
The black material even matches the coloring of the two halves decently well enough that you won’t notice much of a difference unless you go looking for it.
Since JSAUX’s accessory only weighs 45.8g (1.61oz), it hardly adds that much weight to the already light controllers. Although, I personally prefer my controllers to feel a bit more weighty than this.
Meanwhile, this accessory measures approximately 130 (H) x 105 (W) x 16mm (D) (~5.12 x 4.13 x 0.63in) and matches the overall height of the Legion Go controllers very well.
On its own, the plastic is pretty sturdy, so much so that I am not worried about JSAUX’s accessory getting damaged if I slip it into a travel bag.
The JSAUX Grip Connector does not have a battery inside of it, so it does not prolong the battery life of the controllers.
The USB-C port simply offers passthrough charging for the connected halves, which is still a convenience since the controllers don’t have their own USB-C ports.
While receiving a charge, lights near the top front of the accessory’s casing glow red if the controllers aren’t fully charged and turn green once they are.
Just note that there is no battery life indicator to let you know approximately how much battery life is left on either controller.
During the time I spent using the JSAUX Grip Connector, it never had issues providing passthrough charging to the attached controllers.

As I previously said, I don’t have any huge complaints for the JSAUX Grip Connector, but there are a few things to note.
While not a horrible oversight, the JSAUX Grip Connector does not come with a USB-C charging cable. As such, you will need to use your Legion Go charging adapter or some other compatible cable for passthrough charging.
In my Legion Go review, I mention that the controllers are both large and bulky, and it can be hard to reach some of the gaming handheld’s buttons.
This JSAUX accessory does not fix these issues, but that’s not a failing on JSAUX’s part.
That said, if you compare the overall bulky size of the Legion Go controllers + JSAUX accessory against an Xbox Controller, then Microsoft‘s gamepad is notably slimmer and sleeker overall.
The thing I like least about the JSAUX Grip Connector is that the controller halves do wobble a bit when in place.
It’s definitely not as bad as some mobile controllers I’ve used (see our round-up of the best Xbox Cloud Gaming controllers for examples), but you might notice wiggling if you put more pressure on one side of the joined controller than the other.

You should buy this if …
✅ You like to play your Legion Go in tabletop mode or attached to a docking station
If you regularly like to detach your Legion Go controllers for gaming sessions but would prefer it if they could feel more like a traditional gamepad, then this accessory is a good fit for you.
You should not buy this if …
❌ You don’t need passthrough charging
You can save a few dollars by going with a different Legion Go controller connector accessory that doesn’t offer passthrough. Just make sure this is a feature you don’t want.

Install the two Legion Go controllers onto either side of this accessory to turn them into a more traditional controller. It offers passthrough charging and doesn’t weigh very much.
