KraftGeek MagSafe Tripod Review

MagSafe is often connected only with wireless charging, but its potential goes far beyond charging your iPhone. For content creators and photographers, MagSafe offers a great way to mount and position their iPhone without the hassle of clamps or brackets. The only time I’ve cracked my iPhone screen is with a clamp. This week on MagSafe Monday, I am looking at a product that takes full advantage of MagSafe to give you a content creation tool or a way to use your iPhone as a Zoom camera for the Mac. Let’s look at the KraftGeek MagSafe Tripod.

MagSafe Monday: Every Monday, Bradley Chambers looks at the latest and greatest in the MagSafe and wireless charging industry to help you get the most out of your Apple devices that support wireless charging.

What’s included with the KraftGeek MagSafe Tripod?

The KraftGeek MagSafe Tripod looks like a normal tripod, but the biggest difference is that it uses MagSafe to connect to your iPhone vs the normal clamp that many tripods use. You get a charging cable (more on that later) and the actual tripod in the box. It weighs only 13 oz and folds to 12 inches; this tripod easily fits into a bag or backpack. This is a great option for mobile content creators who need gear that go anywhere

The KraftGeek MagSafe Tripod is handy for handheld filming, but it can also stretch to over 5 feet to function as a tripod. While filming at the gym isn’t my thing, this would be a great product if it is. Just don’t act out and end up being scolded by Joey Swoll.

While it works great as only a tripod, a detachable bluetooth remote clicker is built into the product. This makes it easy to take photos and start recordings where you’re not near your iPhone. This is especially useful for solo content creators who need to trigger their camera without setting a timer or relying on another person to snap the shot. This also makes it useful for taking family photos without using the iPhone’s timer functionality.

If you’re a content creator, you know that flexibility is key when filming video, and the KraftGeek MagSafe Tripod gives it a 210º vertical tilt and full 360º rotation. Whether framing a wide-angle landscape shot, setting up for a video call, or recording a top-down tutorial on your desk, you can adjust the mount to find the perfect angle without worrying about your iPhone falling off. Unlike fixed-position tripods, the KraftGeek MagSafe Tripod can easily adapt to different shooting scenarios.

Wrap up

At this price point, I am a big fan of the KraftGeek MagSafe Tripod. I love MagSafe, and this is a perfect use case outside of charging. While I don’t film much content, I will keep it around for taking family photos. If you’re a content creator who uses your iPhone, it’s a must-have product.

You can buy it from Amazon or directly from KraftGeek. KraftGeek also sells a MagSafe selfie light as well.
