Big business, government on alert over Oracle cyberattack claims


A rollcall of Australia’s biggest companies and government departments scrambled on Sunday to check the security of their technology systems, after a hacker claimed to have stolen important credentials by breaching cloud computing provider Oracle.

Cyber professionals at companies including Australia’s biggest banks, Telstra, Optus, Qantas, Woolworths, Coles, the Australian Securities Exchange, and Nine Entertainment, which owns The Australian Financial Review, leapt into action after being named by the hacker.
