Apple releases first iOS 18.5 beta

Hot off the heels of releasing iOS 18.4 to everyone, Apple has pushed out the first developer beta version of its next big point update. iOS 18.5 beta 1 is now available to developer beta testers. We’ll dig in to learn what’s new and report back so stay tuned.

What’s new in iOS 18.5?

iOS 18.5 isn’t expected to include any major new features. That’s because iOS 19 development is well underway internally, and Apple has shipped nearly all of its promised features for the iOS 18 cycle.

However, last year’s iOS 17.5 software update did include a few surprises with News+ game additions and cross-platform tracking detection for AirTag-like products.
