The 911-Inspired Ducktail Has Vanished
The redesign of the Ioniq 6 goes beyond just aesthetics. Hyundai says the updated model adds more refinement to its already award-winning electric sedan, with changes aimed at maturing the car and preparing it for global markets, starting with South Korea and later expanding to the United States.
On the outside, the Ioniq 6 now features a cleaner front and a more sculpted body. The front end is updated with slimmer headlights and a hood that adopts a subtle shark-nose shape, while a dark trim runs along the bottom edge and up into the doors, enhancing the vehicle’s low-slung profile.
At the rear, the most notable change is the removal of the distinct rear spoiler. In its place, a longer, integrated ducktail-style lift improves aerodynamic efficiency and smoothens the car’s shape, while horizontal lines across the rear lights and bumper help widen its stance for a more planted appearance.

N Line Trim Debuts, Full N Model Arriving Later This Year
Hyundai didn’t stop with just the base model; they also introduced a new Ioniq 6 N Line trim, offering a sportier version inspired by the RN22e concept. The N Line features more aggressive bumpers, side sills that give it a lower stance, and a darkened rear, all of which lend the car a sharper attitude, though performance specs have not yet been revealed.
For those waiting for a true performance EV, Hyundai teased the upcoming Ioniq 6 N, which will deliver power and dynamics in line with the N brand’s performance expectations. While details remain scarce, test prototypes have already been spotted at the Nurburgring, and a full debut is scheduled for July this year.
As for the standard Ioniq 6 model, the core platform and electric powertrain remain unchanged. The facelift focuses on enhancing refinement and user experience, with the battery and electric motors expected to carry over from the pre-facelift model, making this update a thoughtful refinement rather than a complete overhaul.
