A Nothing launch event is scheduled for July 27th

The month of June has come and gone with nothing much being announced but we have news of a Nothing launch event being held on July 27th where Carl Pei will unveil the brands’ first audio product, the Nothing Ear (1). From previous leaks and rumors, we can deduce that the Nothing Ear (1) will be a set of earbuds.

The launch event kicks off at 9AM ET/ 2PM BST on July 27th. Other than saying that their “…true wireless earbuds combine raw beauty and precise engineering for a pure sound experience”, there isn’t much to talk about as yet.

Nothing is still a little cagey with the details on what we can expect to see from the launch, which admittedly makes me a little wary. Is this a lot of hype over a set of earbuds from an unproven company trading on the successes that its investors such as Tony Fadell (inventor of the iPod), Casey Neistat (a YouTuber), and Kevin Lin (Co-founder of Twitch) had at former companies? Who knows, but if the London-based Nothing can pull this off we could have another premium contender in the consumer audio segment. It’s going to be an interesting launch event, to say the least.
