Acer has announced a quartet of Chromebooks aimed at the education segment sporting MIL-STD-810H certification and a similar design. Going under the Chromebook Spin 311, 314, 511, and 512 monikers, the new devices feature touchpads made from ocean-bound plastic.

Sporting a 12-inch display with a 1366 x 912 resolution and 3:2 aspect ratio, the Chromebook 512 can be had with Intel Celeron N4500, N5100, or Pentium Silver N6000 chipsets with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 32/64GB of eMMC storage. Acer claims up to 12 hours of battery life and there’s an HD webcam with dual microphones present for video conferencing. Like the Chromebook 511 mentioned below, the 512 use recycled plastics for their chassis.

The Chromebook 511 is a smidge smaller with an 11.6-inch display that has 1366 x 768 resolution and a more common 16:9 aspect ratio. There’s a choice of Intel Celeron N4500 or N5100 chipsets, up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM, and 64GB of eMMC storage.

With a 14-inch FHD display and 16:9 aspect ratio, the Chromebook 314 offers more viewing area and can be had with an optional touchscreen. It’s powered by the same Intel Celeron N4500, N5100, or Pentium Silver N6000 chipsets, and comes with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X memory and 128GB of eMMC storage. Acer claims up to 1`0 hours of battery life, and the device also has an HD webcam with dual microphones for video calls. The 314 sports a MicroSD card slot, a pair of USB-C ports, and a couple of USB-A ports which makes it quite user-friendly.

The only convertible device mentioned in today’s announcement, the Chromebook Spin 311 is powered by MediaTek’s Kompanio 500 (MT8183) octa-core processor which is accompanied by up to 4GB of LPDDR4X memory and 64GB of eMMC storage. The 11.6-inch touch display can rotate 360 degrees and features Corning’s Antimicrobial Gorilla Glass protection.
