Alienware x15 R2, x17 R2 gaming laptops pack 12th Gen Intel CPUs into thin bodies

The first wave of Dell’s new Alienware gaming laptops is now available through the company’s website. The Alienware x15 R2 (from $2,200) and Alienware x17 R2 (from $2,450) run on 12th Gen Intel Core processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30-series graphics. Both devices feature Alienware Cryo-tech cooling to keep the internals of the laptops at healthy temperatures.

Despite their powerful internals, the gaming laptops are quite thin. The x17, which is the thicker of the new devices, maxes out at 0.82 inches (20.9 mm).

Based on their specs and designs, the Alienware x15 R2 and x17 R2 look like they’ll compete with the best gaming laptops.

Dell’s other new gaming laptops, including the Alienware x14, will launch later this year. The Alienware m15 R7 will start shipping on February 1, 2022.

The first generation Alienware x15 and x17 are still available on Dell’s website. Make sure you buy an Alienware x15 R2 or x17 R2 if you’d like one of the latest gaming laptops from Dell.
