Among Us 3D
A New Dimension of Sus
Release Date: May 6, 2025
It’s hard to believe it’s already been five years since the original Among Us took the internet by storm during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, the game is making a promising return to the spotlight with Among Us 3D, a first-person, three-dimensional reimagining of the beloved social deduction game.
The game features a mix of classic and new mini-games, all from a fresh first-person perspective. One particularly exciting addition is proximity voice chat—a feature that was sorely missing from the original Among Us.
Based on the trailers, Among Us 3D seems to me more like an adaptation of the 2022 Among Us 3D: VR rather than a proper first-person experience, but at least you don’t need a VR headset to experience it. It’s shaping up to be like a more polished and objective-oriented version of VRChat, and honestly, I’m all here for it.

The Midnight Walk
An Equal Parts Charming and Terrifying Stop-Motion Nightmare
Release Date: May 8, 2025
Ever since the days of the fantastic 2D puzzle-platformer LIMBO, I’ve been itching for a game that blends charm with the macabre. It’s a strange combination, but The Midnight Walk nails it. On top of that, it makes fantastic use of stop-motion animation, which is just the icing on the cake. In many ways, it feels like a more adult and grotesque video game version of Henry Selick’s 2009 film Coraline.
In this first-person game, you play as the Burnt One. Accompanied by your quirky yet eerie companion Potboy, you embark on a fantasy adventure filled with grotesque monsters. You battle, evade, and escape as you explore the dark, ominous environments of the world around you.

DOOM: The Dark Ages
Slay Demons in Medieval Hell
Release Date: May 15, 2025
DOOM: The Dark Ages is the long-awaited prequel to DOOM 2016 and DOOM Eternal, set in an epic medieval reimagining of DOOM‘s Hell. If it’s even half as good as its predecessors, it’s going to be incredible.
You step back into the shoes of DOOM Slayer (affectionately known as Doomguy) and wage a war against the legions of Hell using a unique mix of DOOM‘s iconic firearms, like the Super shotgun, along with all-new medieval weaponry. Another exciting addition is the introduction of controllable vehicles, including a dragon and a massive mech.
Capcom’s Classics Return for a New Generation
Release Date: May 15, 2025
Capcom Fighting Collection 2 is a collection of eight old-school Capcom arcade fighting games, including Capcom vs. SNK: Millennium Fight 2000 Pro, Power Stone 1 and 2, and Project Justice. As the second entry in the series, this collection features slightly newer titles compared to those in the first Capcom Fighting Collection.
Whether you’re revisiting these games for a hit of nostalgia or are playing them for the first time, this collection of 2D and 3D fighting games is a must-have for fans of the genre. Each game includes full online and local multiplayer support, allowing you to compete against friends or match similarly skilled opponents online.

Monster Train 2
Take Your Deck on the Last Train to Hell
Release Date: May 21, 2025
Monster Train 2 is the sequel to the 2020 roguelike deckbuilder Monster Train. As you ride on a train through Heaven, Hell, and the Abyss, you construct, upgrade, and refine your deck throughout the run to take down increasingly more powerful enemies. The sequel builds on the first game with new content and features, including new cards, clans, and game modes.
If you love Balatro as much as we do here at How-To Geek, you’ll definitely want to give Monster Train 2 a shot when it comes out (or try the demo, which is already available on Steam). And if you’re short on time, you can skip the first Monster Train and jump straight into the new and improved sequel!

Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time
Your Cozy Dream Life Is Now Just a Moment Away
Release Date: May 21, 2025
While PC gamers have plenty of cozy indie games to choose from, there hasn’t been anything quite as polished and feature-rich as Animal Crossing on PC—until now. Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time is set to change that.
This casual RPG lets you choose from a range of different jobs (called “Lives”), team up with up to three other players, explore an open world, and build houses and objects to transform the deserted island into a thriving home. After two delays in 2023 and 2024, Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time is finally launching on May 21st.

Blades of Fire
Forge Your Sword and Test It in Battle
Release Date: May 22, 2025
MercurySteam, the video game development team behind Castlevania: Lords of Shadow and Metroid Dread, is back with an exciting new action-adventure called Blades of Fire. What makes this game special is that your character’s strength is entirely tied to your weapon.
Queen Nerea’s spell has turned steel into stone, allowing only her legions to wield true weapons. Fortunately, your character, Aran de Lira, is a blacksmith who can craft new blades — something you’ll constantly do in this game. Between the unique forging system and in-combat weapon sharpening, there’s a lot to master before you can take down the Queen.

Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny Remaster
Reclaim Your Honor in Remastered Glory
Release Date: May 23, 2025
This is our second Capcom entry for the month, and it’s a remaster of a beloved PS2 classic that originally released in 2002—Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny. It’s the long-awaited remastered sequel to Onimusha: Warlords, which itself was re-released back in 2019.
In this action-adventure, you play as Jubei Yagyu, a samurai on a quest for revenge in a captivating Feudal Japan. The remaster is a great way to re-experience this classic, as it updates the game with HD graphics and modernized controls while preserving the core gameplay that made it special.

Elden Ring Nightreign
Even More Elden Ring, Now as a Multiplayer Roguelike
Release Date: May 30, 2025
Elden Ring is undoubtedly the best Soulsborne game that FromSoftware has released so far (which is why it sold 30 million copies), so it’s exciting to see even more content arriving after the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.
This time, we’re getting a standalone entry with Elden Ring Nightreign, and it has the potential to deliver the best, most exciting content yet. It’s a 3-player co-op roguelike set in a procedurally generated area. While you can play it solo, the experience is best enjoyed with a full team—plan ahead before it releases on May 30th.

I’m particularly excited about JDM: Japanese Drift Master, which was originally slated for a March release. Regardless of your preference, May has something great in store for everyone!
