Amazon isn’t shy about getting its smart home assistant, Amazon Alexa, into as many homes as it can manage. Now, with the launch — or perhaps, the return — of the new Echo Spot, it’s finding a way to conveniently get Alexa to live in your bedroom. Some folks might not have liked having bigger Echo smart speakers on a bedside table, but the Echo Spot is essentially an alarm clock, so your nightstand is where it’s meant to live.

The Echo Spot has a circular front face, roughly half of which is used up by a display and the rest by a fabric speaker grille. Quite obviously, you’ll be able to set alarms and check the time with this, but you’ll also be able to see the weather, play music, set timers, and control aspects of your smart home with it. Of course, you’ll also have the power of Alexa by your bedside, and anything she can do elsewhere, she can do on your Echo Spot.

The Echo Spot’s display can be set to six colorways: blue, lime, magenta, orange, teal, and violet; and you also get access to a whole array of clock faces, so there’s almost certainly going to be something that fits the aesthetic that you’ve set for your bedroom.

The Amazon Echo Spot is available right now in Black, Glacier White, and Ocean Blue colorways, and it retails at a full price of $79.99. Want it for cheaper though? Keep reading.

If you’d love the idea of adding an Echo Spot to your home but that price tag is a bit too high for you at the moment, you can get a major discount if you’re a Prime member. Prime Day is going to run on July 16th and July 17th, and members will be able to get the new Echo Spot at just $44.99 during Prime Day. Its price will return to normal by July 18th though, but you’ve got about a week to make up your mind.

Plus, you could technically get this deal without even needing to pay for Prime. Amazon themselves mention that you can start a free trial (and jump off it afterward, without paying a dime, but they didn’t say that part) to take advantage of the discounted price.
