Amazon is finally expanding hardware support for its Luna cloud gaming service to devices it should have supported from the beginning, like Amazon’s own Fire tablets. When the service debuted last year, we weren’t all that impressed, even though it was available for PC, Mac, iOS, and Amazon Fire TV devices, but not Fire tablets or Android.

A few months later, Amazon added Android support, which was a welcomed addition, but it took an entire year to support the brand’s own Fire tablets. Today, Luna supports several Fire Tablets released in 2018 and above and is also coming to Chromebooks. Here are the tablets that work with Luna.

    • Fire 7 (2019 release)
    • Fire HD 8 (2018 release)
    • Fire HD 8 (2020 release)
    • Fire HD 10 (2019 release)
    • Fire HD 10 (2021 release)

While the service is still technically in an “early-access only” stage, the company is also making it easier for people to give it a try. More specifically, those with an Amazon Fire Tablet can sign up. And if you don’t happen to own any Amazon devices, you can still try it for a limited time.

Amazon just opened a new “Luna Couch” mode that gives instant approval to those that accept an invite code from a friend that’s already using the service, but only local multiplayer games, including Team Sonic Racing, Overcooked 2, and a few others from its limited collection of games.

Last but not least, Amazon plans to open a new retro-gaming channel with cult classics from Atari and SNK, including Another WorldDragon’s Lair, and King of Fighters, to name a few.

Those with an Amazon Prime account can even try popular titles like Resident Evil 7 or Metro Exodus for free without signing up for Luna between now and September 15th. Get started by clicking here.
