NCWLIFE Channel’s Eric Granstrom sits down to get to know the Apple Blossom Top Ten Candidates for the Royalty Selection Pageant this week. Today, we meet Candidate Ainsley Shearer, the daughter of Jim and Christy Shearer. NCWLIFE will have LIVE coverage Saturday beginning with the Countdown to Coronation at 6:30pm, followed by the Royalty Selection Pageant, presented by Cashmere Valley Bank, at 7:00pm.
Ainsley is the daughter of Jim and Christy Shearer. Ainsley is involved with 3 choirs currently at her high school, president of the Wenatchee Vocal Jazz Ensemble, and has been in her high school’s drama club for 4 years while president of the Thespian Society. She has worked for Stage Kids as a teacher for 3 years and has been involved in community theater productions for nearly 10 years. Ainsley has also been a part of Leavenworth Summer Theater as a paid actor for the past 4 seasons. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, reading, yoga, and meeting new people. After graduation, Ainsley plans to major in Psychology with a dream of becoming a forensic psychologist, in addition to continuing her love for music by minoring in general music.
Ainsley’s favorite TV show is The Walking Dead and her favorite movie is Across the Universe. Her favorite song is “Landslide” by Fleetwood Mac and her favorite book is A Man’s Search for Meaningby Viktor E. Frankl. She is most inspired by her mom and her most treasured keepsake is a necklace that she wears everyday.
Ainsley’s favorite things to do in the Wenatchee Valley, besides Apple Blossom, is to shop at the locally owned stores downtown, watch the sunset on the Sage Hills trail, and enjoy all the wonderful hikes and walks in the nature this Valley has to offer. Her proudest moment in life was watching her first Stage Kids group perform for their parents and see the joy on their faces. If Ainsley could trade places with anyone for a day, she would trade places with Kate Rubins. Ainsley feels she should represent the Wenatchee Valley and the Apple Blossom Festival because she has always had a burning passion for meeting new people, being an advocate for mental health, a positive role model for young men and women, and having an interest in environmental and social change. Of course, she also has a deep love for the Wenatchee Valley and the Apple Blossom Festival.
