Following a stressful morning of interviews by the judges and a colorful and lively pageant evening in front of a packed house, the 2022 Apple Blossom Top Ten Candidates were narrowed to three Saturday. Rianne Salcido was selected Queen while Ainsley Shearer and Presley Nelson were selected Princesses to reign over the 2022 Washington State Apple Blossom Festival. Rianne is the daughter of Malichi and Cathy Salcido. She receives a $10,000 scholarship from the Wenatchee Applearians. Ainsley is the daughter of Tim and Christy Shearer. Presley is the daughter of Dave and Leanna Nelson. They both receive a $5,000 scholarship from the Apple Blossom Scholarship Fund.
Other awards handed out Saturday night included Most Photogenic to Rita Escalera, daughter of Jose and Brenda Escalera. She receives a photo session from Parsons Photography and gift certificate to Ulta Beauty and Ever After Studios. Rita also received the award for the Most Original Speech, as voted on by the public. This award is accompanied by a $1,000 scholarship from Kottkamp, Yedinak and Esworthy Law Firm. Presley Nelson won the Achievement Award and a $1,000 scholarship from Davis, Arniel Law Firm. Rianne Salcido won the Congeniality Award, voted on by the Top Ten Candidates, and receives a $1,000 scholarship from Holmberg Dentistry. She also won the Community Involvement Award and a $1,000 scholarship from seven local State Farm agents.
