The Wenatchee Sunrise Rotary has opened registration for the 35th Annual Apple Century Bike Ride, scheduled for September 10, 2022. Apple Century Bike Ride Chair Alan Walker says the bike ride has a long tradition in Wenatchee. “The Apple Century Bike Ride is an event that has been put on for the last 35 years by the Sunrise Wenatchee Rotary Club.”
The bike ride is a fully supported recreational ride that is 100 miles long, and features three distances: the 100 mile century ride, a 50 mile half century ride, and a quarter century 25 mile ride.
Walker says the registration fees raise funds for scholarships, humanitarian relief, and community projects. “The benefit is to a variety of programs that Wenatchee Sunrise is involved in,” he said. “This certainly includes our Challenge Scholarship Program where we work with local schools, focusing on at-risk high school students.”
