Apple Exclusive Reveals Stunning New iPhone 14 Finish

iPhone 14 leaks have shed light on the range’s design, performance differences and expensive front cameras. But their new color option might prove to be the most eye-catching upgrade.

For months, iPhone 14 Pro models have been tipped to launch in purple. Apple commonly refreshes colors with iPhone launches, but a new video has shown the purple finish to be unlike anything iPhones have had before.

Shared by prominent Apple leaker DuanRui (via Weibo) using an iPhone 14 Pro dummy unit, the finish has a shimmering quality which shifts between dark and light purple at different angles. Apple has experimented with something similar on the Midnight iPhone 13 and M2-based MacBook Air, but it is nowhere near as striking.

In addition, while not captured on video, DuanRui has shared the other color options for the iPhone 14 lineup: navy blue, gold, graphite and silver. The latter three have been established for some time, but it is the first time blue has been mentioned in leaks. If it shimmers similarly to purple, expect the duo to be the most popular options by some distance.

One note of caution: Midnight on the iPhone 13 and M2 MacBook Air is a fingerprint magnet. So think carefully if you plan to go caseless. That said, I expect sales of Apple’s MagSafe Clear Case to go through the roof.

Pre-orders for the iPhone 14 range are expected to start on September 9. My advice is, if you want a purple or blue iPhone 14 Pro / Pro Max, you will have to move fast.
