With increased anticipation for the demand of the MacBook Pro mini LED supply, Apple is now ramping up its production for the anticipated products by 20-30%, according to an analyst.
Apple Aims to Increase Expansion Efforts of Its Supply Chain for Mini LED Panels
According to the story by AppleInsider, the company is now ramping up expansion efforts towards its supply chain for the Apple mini LED panels. These efforts are pointing towards increased production for the company’s newer MacBook Pro displays.
Apple’s 14-inch MacBook Pro and 16-inch MacBook Pro utilize mini LEDs for the gadgets’ backlighting and display. This particular technology was initially spotted on the company’s 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
The iPad Pro showed initial sucess hence the company is now keen on ramping up efforts to help increase the production of its mini LEDs to use this particular technology even more.
As per Ming-Chi Kuo, a TF Securities analyst, the company is now ramping up its efforts in supply chain capacity expansion. As per a Tweet by Mich-Chi Kuo, Apple’s increased efforts are directed towards the MacBook Pro.
Apple Aims to Increase Production by 20-30%
To add, Apple is making these efforts despite the current industry suffering due to inflation and what is going on with Russia. Ming-Chi Kuo notes that despite what is happening, Apple plans to ramp up its supply chain capacity for mini LED panels for its proprietary MacBook Pros by 20 up to 30%.
The increased production capacity gives the company multiple benefits. These benefits include a reduced cost per panel due to scaling up the company’s production. To add, the increase could also be considered a sign that the company “believes high demand” of its brand new high-end notebooks.
Apple Analyst Explains Gap Between OLED Notebook and Mini-LED MacBook Pro Shipments
The quote made by Ming-Chi Kuo was a follow-up to another tweet posted just recently with the analyst noting the gap between both the OLED notebook and mini-LED MacBook Pro shipments, which could increase from this year until next year.
Despite the increase of inflation now being a widespread issue, the company is reckoned to be able to compete with other companies due to the Cupertino giants’ “brand value” as per AppleInsider.
Although the notebook/PC market is suffering from inflation/Russian-Ukrainian war, Apple is still aggressively expanding the supply chain capacity of mini-LED panels for MacBook Pro, aiming to increase 20-30%. https://t.co/U70sNhFaYA

The comments came as a reply to a previous report by DailySupplyChain, an analytics firm, on March 21 of this year. As per the report, both of Apple’s newest MacBook Pro models have seen domination compared to other advanced notebooks in the market after their particular launch.
In the figures shown by the DSCC, the mini LED MacBook Pro models were able to topple sales of all other OLED notebooks during the fourth quarter of last year. This data was seen in a post by DSCCRoss.
Apple sold more MiniLED MacBook Pro’s in Q4’21 than the combined total of all OLED notebooks sold by other brands. But expect rapid growth in both OLED and MiniLED notebooks in 2022 and beyond. https://t.co/H2F9DfipBE pic.twitter.com/VdKzdGZUVi
