Apple Files Trademarks for macOS Ventura, Apple Studios and more


 

This week the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) published three key trademark applications. The first is for “Apple Studios” which covers content for the Apple TV+ streaming service. The second covers “Apple Developer Academy.” The trademark is in context with Apple being in partnership with the Michigan State University in Detroit. The third trademark covers “macOS Ventura” introduced at WWDC22 earlier this month.

This week the Hong Kong Patent and Trademark Office published Apple’s trademark application #305986919 for “Apple Studios” covering multimedia content such as films, television programs, sporting events, games and much more for Apple TV+.

Days after WWDC22, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office published Apple’s figurative trademark application #3 97456149 for Apple “Developer Academy” as presented below that covers education services and more.

Apple filed their trademark under International Class 041 covering: “Education services; arranging and conducting educational and training courses in the fields of computer application development, computer programming, computer coding, software development, software design, website design, website development, entrepreneurship, business administration, professional skills, project management, and career development; education services, namely, mentoring in the fields of business administration, software development, professional development, and entrepreneurship.”

 

Apple’s “Specimen” to USPTO

 

The U.S. Patent Office defines a specimen as being an example of how a company is actually using their trademark in the marketplace with the goods or services in their application. It’s what consumers see when they are considering whether to purchase goods or subscribe to services that Apple provides in connection with their trademark.
