Apple has re-released iOS 18.3 for an older iPhone model

Have an iPhone 11? Apple just released a new build of last week’s iOS 18.3 software update just for you.

iOS 18.3 build 22D64 is now available for iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max. The five-year-old model received the same update to iOS 18.3 last week as other iPhone models. The new build suggests something specific to the iPhone 11 line needed resolved with a new build.

The iOS 18.3 build for other iPhone models is 22D63.

The software update primarily focuses on changes to Apple Intelligence, which doesn’t run on iPhone 15 and earlier, but it does include feature tweaks and security fixes:

This update includes the following enhancements and bug fixes:

  • Calculator repeats the last mathematical operation when you tap the equals sign again
  • Fixes an issue where the keyboard might disappear when initiating a typed Siri request
  • Resolves an issue where audio playback continues until the song ends even after closing Apple Music

Have an iPhone 15 Pro or any iPhone 16 model? Apple Intelligence saw these changes in iOS 18.3:

See the security update fixes here for more details.

Visual intelligence with Camera Control (All iPhone 16 models)

  • Add an event to Calendar from a poster or flyer
  • Easily identify plants and animals

Notification summaries (All iPhone 16 models, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max)

  • Easily manage settings for notification summaries from the Lock Screen
  • Updated style for summarized notifications better distinguishes them from other notifications by using italicized text as well as the glyph
  • Notification summaries for News & Entertainment apps are temporarily unavailable, and users who opt-in will see them again when the feature becomes available

Next, we expect iOS 18.4 beta to arrive as early as this week with promised upgrades to Siri, including the ability to learn from information on your phone privately and securely.
