In preparation for the 2024 Worldwide Developers Conference, Apple wants to remind developers of its commitment to supporting app creators across the globe.
WWDC is set to kick off on June 10, and Apple is set to showcase its latest updates to each major operating system and the developer tools that make apps. It also wants to ensure that developers are fully aware of all the resources it provides to them.
“It’s an honor and a privilege for our teams to work directly with developers at every stage of their journeys, from students and hobbyists, to budding entrepreneurs and coding professionals,” Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations, said in a statement.
“We’re always looking for new ways to support this amazing community as they bring their visions to life and push the boundaries of what is possible.”
Since 2023, Apple has expanded its reach to developers in more than 160 countries. It points out that it has also hosted 50,000 Meet with Apple Experts and trained more than 3,700 students through Apple Developer Academies and Apple Foundation Programs in 2023 alone.
Since June 2023, Apple Vision Pro developer labs have seen more than 6,000 visits from developers. These events allowed developers to work side-by-side with Apple experts in Cupertino, New York, London, Munich, Shanghai, Singapore, Sydney, and Tokyo, helping them to optimize their apps for Apple’s new spatial computing headset.
This year, Apple has updated its Apple Developer Forums, helping to connect developers to other developers, Apple experts, and Apple engineers. The forums have also been reorganized into an easier-to-browse layout.
And in May, Apple launched Pathways, a hub page that offers developers access to videos, documentations, and resources to help them build apps and games. Since its launch, over 40,000 developers have accessed Pathways content.
This year, Apple will announce iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS 15, tvOS 18, and watchOS 11 at WWDC. While Apple has not revealed much of what will be covered at the event, it has confirmed that AI will be a big topic.
