Android owners will soon be able to enjoy all their favorite Apple TV+ series and films right from the palms of their hands.
Since its launch in late 2019, you’ve had plenty of ways to watch Apple TV+. Apple has dedicated apps for Apple TV, iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro. It also is a common sight on smart TVs.
It’s also available for PlayStation, Xbox, and Roku. It’s even been available to stream in-browser since its launch.
However, there’s been one place that seemed to box out any would-be Apple TV+ subscribers — Android phones. But now it seems that Apple is poised to change that.
According to Bloomberg, the company hopes that by bringing its streaming service to Android phones, it can bolster Apple TV+ subscription numbers. And, frankly, it’s a smart move.
Apple TV+ is one of the few Apple Services that do not rely on Apple hardware. Not to mention, it’s already been available for smart TVs. Bringing the service to Android makes a lot of sense, especially now that shows like “Severance” and the fourth season of “Ted Lasso” could serve to drive up subscription numbers.
Apple has done the same thing with its line of Music-based services. In 2015, it brought Apple Music to Android platforms. Even Apple Music Classical has been available to Android owners for nearly two years at this point.
There’s no current date for the expansion of Apple TV+ to Android phones, but we expect it to be announced sooner rather than later.
