Apple just released new Powerbeats Pro 2 firmware ahead of launch

Earlier today, reviews dropped for the new Powerbeats Pro 2 (here’s ours). The new Beats headphones are available to order now and ship to users this Thursday. But ahead of launch, Apple has released a firmware update for its latest product.

Day one firmware update ready for Powerbeats Pro 2 buyers

As reported by MacRumors, Powerbeats Pro 2 will arrive in users’ hands with firmware version 7B15.

However, Apple just shipped a firmware update for the unreleased headphones.

That firmware is build 7B24 and provides a day one update for Powerbeats Pro 2 buyers to install.

It is unknown exactly what’s contained in the new firmware, but likely Apple became aware of certain bugs or performance issues during expanded product testing that have now been fixed.

You can find instructions for how to update Beats headphones across iPhone, Android, and more in this support document.

Powerbeats Pro 2 arrive six years after their predecessor and come with a variety of key upgrades, including Apple’s H2 chip, excellent battery life, an improved fit, and more.
