Apple just released two brand new apps in iOS 18.4 and visionOS 2.4 beta 2

Apple released the latest iOS 18.4 and visionOS 2.4 betas today. Beta 2 arrives with a brand new app on each platform: ‘Apple Vision Pro’ is the newest iPhone app, and ‘Spatial Gallery’ is new to Vision Pro.

‘Apple Vision Pro’ is the latest iPhone app in iOS 18.4

For years, Apple has offered a standalone ‘Watch’ app on the iPhone for setting up and managing your Apple Watch.

Now as of iOS 18.4 beta 2, that same idea has been applied to the Vision Pro.

The new ‘Apple Vision Pro’ app on iPhone offers a dedicated home to:

  • view your Vision Pro’s model number, software version, and serial number
  • access tips and the Vision Pro user guide
  • and discover new and recent Vision Pro content, such as immersive videos, apps and games, and more

Opening the app provides a single-screen Discover page where you can scroll through various stories about recent Vision Pro updates and content.

It works a lot like browsing the App Store’s Today tab.

Ever since I bought my Vision Pro late last year, I’ve wanted a way to browse the latest Vision Pro offerings when not actually using visionOS. The Apple Vision Pro app looks like a solid answer to that wish.

Additionally, Vision Pro users get a new Spatial Gallery app as part of visionOS 2.4 beta 2.

As we reported previously, the app is a dedicated home for all the spatial media you have available: photos, videos, and panoramic shots. But there’s more.

Apple says

With Spatial Gallery, users will enjoy breathtaking and intimate moments spanning art, culture, entertainment, lifestyle, nature, sports, and travel, with new content released regularly. At launch, users can discover remarkable perspectives from photographers like Jonpaul Douglass and Samba Diop; new stories and experiences from iconic brands including Cirque du Soleil, Red Bull, and Porsche; behind-the-scenes moments from Apple Originals like DisclaimerSeverance, and Shrinking; and special moments from top artists.

The two new apps are available to beta users now running iOS 18.4 beta 2 and visionOS 2.4 beta 2.

They are expected to ship publicly to all users in early April.
