Apple Music Classical adds three new features in latest update

Apple Music Classical was just updated to version 2.2, and the new release adds three nice improvements to the app for classical music fans.

New features include listening guides, stations, and personalized recommendations

Just released on the App Store, the latest version of Apple Music Classical comes with the following notes from Apple:

Dive deeper with time-synced listening guides for 150+ popular works, enjoy nonstop music with curated stations, and get daily personalized recommendations on Home.

This sounds like an especially noteworthy update for the classical music streaming app.

Each of the three listed new features is a welcome addition:

  • Time-synced listening guides can enhance users’ knowledge and experience of the supported works
  • Curated stations, like in the standard Apple Music app, make for a nice way to just keep listening non-stop without needing to choose new albums or playlists.
  • And personalized recommendations in Home will hopefully lead to improved discovery of new music

Where listening guides are available, you’ll see the Information button in the lower-left corner of the playback screen change into a new icon that looks like a book of musical notes.

From here, the listening guide will provide written context and explanation for each portion of a song as you’re listening. It’s essentially a written commentary to enhance your listening experience.

Apple Music Classical is available to download on the App Store, and its full service is included with any Apple Music subscription.
