Musical comedy-drama “Flora and Son” is set to premiere in theaters on September 22 and will arrive on Apple TV+ on September 29.
The film, set in Ireland, follows the titular Flora and her petty-thief teenage son Max. Flora encourages Max to take up the guitar. With the help of Jeff, an LA-based online guitar teacher, they discover the healing power of music.
Eva Hewson, known for her work in films like “Bridge of Spies” and “Blood Ties,” plays Flora. She also starred in the Apple TV+ series “Bad Sisters.”
From Sundance to Toronto. John Carney’s newest crowd-pleasing hit is heading to TIFF 2023.
Flora and Son, starring Eve Hewson, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Oren Kinlan, arrives in select theaters on September 22.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt, known for his roles in films like “Looper” and “Snowden”, stars as Jeff. He also starred in the comedy-drama series “Mr. Corman” on Apple TV+.
The film is written and directed by John Carney, who is best known for his role as showrunner and executive producer of “Modern Love.”
