Apple plans to source device chips from Arizona facility in 2024 through Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co.

Technology giant Apple is preparing to buy chips for its devices in Arizona. The latest move comes from Bloomberg News, which reportedly obtained the information at an internal meeting in Germany.

Apple CEO Tim Cook said an Arizona plant would supply the company with components. The $12 billion factory is being built by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., which also plans to build a second facility in the northwest Valley.

The decision to buy chips in Arizona comes as Apple shifts to sourcing parts domestically.
