Apple is celebrating American Heart Month by encouraging owners of older Apple Watch models to upgrade with increased trade-in prices during February.
If you’ve been looking for a reason to upgrade your Apple Watch, February may be the time to do it. Apple Watch trade-in values have increased slightly, with the Apple Watch Series 2 seeing the most significant value increase.
The maximum trade-in values for devices in good, working condition are now:
- Apple Watch Series 1: $40 (up from $35)
- Apple Watch Series 2: $80 (up from $60)
- Apple Watch Series 3: $100 (up from $95)
- Apple Watch Series 4: $160 (up from $150)
- Apple Watch Series 5: $200 (up from $190)
In the event that customers have nonfunctional devices they would like to get rid of, Apple will recycle them for free.
The Apple Watch has a long history of detecting heart problems in its wearers, who often show no outward symptoms. Recently, an Ohio resident credited the Apple Watch with saving his life when it detected an atrial flutter.
