Apple releases iOS 18.4 RC for iPhone and iPad

Apple is putting the final touches on the upcoming iOS 18.4 release. The release candidate version of the upcoming iPhone and iPad software update is now available for developer and public beta testers. iOS 18.4 brings a lot of new features to both devices.

iOS 18.4 beta 2 introduced support for Visual Intelligence on iPhone 15 Pro. The Apple Intelligence-branded visual search feature can also now be invoked through Control Center, the Action button, or Shortcuts on iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro starting with iOS 18.4.

Perhaps more importantly, iOS 18.4 beta 2 added new emoji characters for the first time in a year.

Meanwhile, iOS 18.4 beta 1 introduced over 50 new features and changes!

These include CarPlay design changes, Priority Notifications powered by Apple Intelligence, a new Apple News+ Food recipes service, mood-based music shortcuts in Control Center, and much more.

Apple is also expanding Apple Intelligence to support more languages with the upcoming software update. These include French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (simplified), and localized English for Singapore and India. Expect the final version to reach customers in April.
