Apple releases RC for visionOS 2.4, tvOS 18.4, and more

Apple is getting close to launching a fresh slate of software updates, and today’s RC (release candidate) versions of visionOS 2.4, tvOS 18.4, and more get us closer to that big day.

RC updates bring more bug fixes and improved stability

The next software updates from Apple will launch publicly in early April.

Those updates include:

  • iOS 18.4
  • iPadOS 18.4
  • macOS Sequoia 15.4
  • visionOS 2.4
  • watchOS 11.4
  • tvOS 18.4
  • and HomePod 18.4

Today, Apple has released RC betas for this lineup of forthcoming software. That means these are expected to be the final versions that ship to the public. Though second RCs are not out of the ordinary.

As usual, the iPhone, iPad, and Mac updates are some of the biggest. But Vision Pro’s new software is also unusually packed thanks to the addition of Apple Intelligence, a new Spatial Gallery app, Guest Mode improvements, and more.

If you’ve already opted in to receive developer beta updates on your device, you should see the new Release Candidate betas appear in your Software Update screen.

With the RC releases, we’re at the point where Apple’s changes in betas will focus near-exclusively on bug fixes and stability.

That’s because with any new features or visible changes that are introduced, the company risks introducing new bugs that could hinder its goals for launching the software soon.

So if you’ve been running the beta, today’s RC updates should hopefully run more smoothly than ever before. And if you’re not running the beta, it should only be another week or two before these updates are available for all users.
