Apple seeds third developer betas for watchOS 9.6 & tvOS 16.6

Developers can download the new watchOS beta

Apple has recently launched the third developer betas for watchOS 9.6 and tvOS 16.6, following the second phase of beta releases.

Following the release of the second betas for watchOS 9.6 and tvOS 16.6 on May 31, Apple has now introduced the third developer betas for both operating systems, continuing the ongoing development cycle.

While specific details about the features and modifications included in these new betas have not been disclosed yet, additional information will be revealed as developers explore and interact with the operating systems.

The third beta version of watchOS 9.6 is denoted by the build number 20U5548c, replacing the previous build 20U5538d of the first watchOS 9.6 beta release. For tvOS 16.6 and HomePod software, the new build number is 20M5548b, representing an update from the previous build 20M5538d.

AppleInsider and Apple strongly suggest users don’t install beta operating systems or other beta software on “mission-critical” or primary devices, as there is the small chance of issues that could result in the loss of data. Testers should instead use secondary or non-essential hardware and ensure they have sufficient backups of their critical data at all times.
