Apple has rolled out a few new features to its Apple Sports app, making navigation easier and providing information on where to watch games.
Sports fans can now find out where and when to watch their favorite national games, thanks to a new update that includes broadcast information on each individual game page.
The app has also had a few improvements made to its navigation features. Now fans can easily browse leagues and teams they follow by swiping left or right.
Those aren’t the only updates, either. Apple has also expanded the soccer lineup, providing game information for the FA Cup, EFL, Championship, and League Cup.
Apple Sports was launched in February 2024, to notably mixed reviews. At launch, most felt the app had promise, but was too stripped down to provide any actual utility for a sports fan.
Apple, however, thought different. Apple’s own Eddy Cue said that Apple Sports was designed to be intuitive and fast, allowing sports fans to get the information they needed intuitively.
Apple slowly began to expand the app’s features over the year. In August, it added in the ability to track NFL and NCAA games.
In September, Apple added support for Live Activities to Apple Sports. This handy feature allows sports fans to see live scores and play updates on the Lock Screen and the Apple Watch.
