Apple teases short film with Pedro Pascal to promote AirPods 4

Apple is about to release a new short movie this week – not for Apple TV+, but to promote the company’s AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation. Starring Chilean actor Pedro Pascal, the new ad is directed by renowned filmmaker Spike Jonze.

Although the short film entitled “Someday” won’t be available until tomorrow, Apple has published a teaser on its YouTube channel. “Experience the magic of AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation in a new film by Spike Jonze, starring Pedro Pascal. Watch on YouTube March 18th,” the video description reads.

The teaser begins with Pascal walking through snowy streets while people dodge him – probably a reference to the Active Noise Cancellation feature. In other scenes, Pascal and others dance while using the latest AirPods 4 with ANC.

Apple launched AirPods 4 in September 2024 with two versions, one of them with Active Noise Cancellation – a feature that was previously exclusive to AirPods Pro and AirPods Max.

Interestingly, this is not the first time that Apple has worked with Spike Jonze on an advertisement for its products. In 2018, the filmmaker directed a short film promoting the HomePod. Starring dancer FKA Twigs, the ad entitled “Welcome Home” won in the Advertising Excellence/Single Commercial category at the AICP Awards.

You can watch the teaser for the short film promoting AirPods 4 below, or on YouTube:

AirPods 4 with ANC cost $179, you can find them for less on Amazon.
