Apple to Release 2022 MacBook Pro? Reports Claim M2 Pro, M2 Max Now Developing

A new MacBook Pro is coming from Apple, with rumors and speculations claiming that a new device will be released later this year. It will bring the next-generation chips for the world to see, one that succeeds the M2 released earlier this year with the MacBook Air.

The new chips will take on known suffixes for its processors, including the M2 Pro and M2 Max that are under development from Apple.

Bloomberg’s PowerOn Newsletter from Mark Gurman released today claimed that an upcoming Apple MacBook Pro is arriving this year to update the flagship laptop from the Cupertino tech company. It would focus on bringing the same design as last year and the 2022 MacBook Air that would have a notch on its screen.

Additionally, it will arrive with new processors for the device, namely the M2 Pro and the M2 Max, giving the world its latest M-series chips for the computer.

The changes it would have from its last release in 2021 would be the addition of the MagSafe charging port and HDMI inclusions, something which the MacBook Air M2 brought last June via the WWDC.

MacBook Pro 2022: M2 Pro and M2 Max Coming

According to MacRumors, the new MacBook Pro coming this year will focus on its latest chips that are now developing by Apple, namely the M2 Pro and M2 Max. Apple’s M-series never used the “Pro” designation before, unlike the “Max” that came with the M1 Max.

Additionally, speculations point to the M2 Pro and Max’s new 3nm size, but chances are it will still focus on the 5nm architecture like the previous M-series chips.

Apple’s Mac Development

Apple’s Mac development is a significant focus for the company, and it does not matter if it is for the desktop and portable experience, as these devices now have a similar chip in them, powered by the M-series. The change to the Apple silicon chip brought significant advancements to the device, with the first one arriving with 2020’s MacBooks

There were significant releases after the M1, and it came in the form of M1 Max with the 2021 MacBook Pro that first debuted the notch in the screen. The redesign is a significant change for the flagship laptop from Apple, letting go of its long-used design that features a bezel on the screen.

Another release from Apple is the Mac Studio’s M1 Ultra, the better version of the M-series that brings more power and capabilities to its computer processes.

Claims now bring speculations to another Apple event later this year, and it will get the latest MacBook Pro for the world with the new processor under the M-series. The M2 Pro and M2 Max processors are soon arriving with the Apple MacBook Pro for its 2022 release, centering on a speculated October or November event before the year ends.
