Apple just dropped the first trailer for the return of The Buccaneers, its drama series based on Edith Wharton’s unfinished book of the same name.
Set to Chappell Roan’s “Good Luck, Babe,” it reveals a new character played by a Gossip Girl alum.
Season 2 picks up right where Season 1 left off, and it marks the return of the main cast and the addition of Leighton Meester, whose character hasn’t been officially confirmed (but fans of the show will surely be able to guess).
Like in the first season, the trailer shows that The Buccaneers continues to mix classical settings with modern music and dialogue, keeping the tone closer to Apple TV+’s Dickinson than, say, Downton Abbey.
Season 2 also marks the return of actors Alisha Boe, Josie Totah, Imogen Waterhouse, and Mia Threapleton.
How to watch The Buccaneers Season 2
The show’s new season premieres exclusively on Apple TV+ on June 18, and new episodes will debut weekly until August 6.
If you missed Season 1 or would like to watch it again as a refresher, all eight episodes are available to stream now.
Apple TV+ is available for $9.99 per month and features hit TV shows and movies like Ted Lasso, Severance, The Studio, The Morning Show, Shrinking and Silo.
