Crime drama series “City on Fire” will not be returning to Apple TV+ for its anticipated second season.

However, while Deadline says that “City on Fire” was planned as a series, rather than a one-off, its first season did complete the dramatisation of Hallberg’s book. An expected second run would have been an entirely new story, which means that Apple has effectively turned “City on Fire” into a limited eight-episode serial.
