A new food documentary is being made for Apple TV+, with “Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars” executive produced by chef Gordon Ramsay.

The Michelin Stars are one of the most prestigious awards a restaurant can receive. An eight-part documentary series for Apple TV+ will show what elite chefs go through to secure the accolade.

“Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars” will offer a glimpse into the intensive world of fine dining. With exclusive access to the Michelin Guide across a year, the documentary will follow the journey of some of the high-level chefs working at restaurants around the world.

Chefs across a broad spectrum will be seen trying to secure their first star, improving to get their second or third, or trying to hold onto their existing stars instead of losing them. The team of Michelin Guide inspectors, using false identities for anonymity, will decide their fate.

Filming took place in cities from Los Angeles to London, and from Mexico City to Copenhagen, making it an international production.

The show will be hosted by co-founder and presenter of Topjaw, Jesse Burgess. It is produced by Studio Ramsay Global, with famed chef Gordon Ramsay serving as executive producer alongside Lisa Edwards and Morgan Roberts.

“As a chef, the pursuit of perfection is everything,” said Ramsay about the show. “You cannot underestimate the unbelievable drive and ambition, the determination and sacrifice these chefs are going through day in and day out, chasing the dream of acknowledgment from the Michelin Guide.”

A release date for “Knife Edge” has yet to be announced.
