Apple TV+’s Loot: The 7 Best Friendships

While Molly on Apple TV+ original series Loot is still grieving the end of her marriage, she has also picked herself up and taken a serious interest in the charity she didn’t even realize she owned. This has involved not only getting acquainted with various people who might not otherwise be in her social circle but has also introduced fans to interesting new characters from all walks of life.

While many of the best friendships on Loot involve Molly finding inspiration and love from people she might otherwise never have met, other characters have also begun to form strong bonds with one another.

There’s an obvious romantic spark between Molly and Arthur. It came to a screeching halt once reality set in and Molly realized she would be publicly scrutinized for fraternizing with people who work for her. Nonetheless, their travels to investigate various companies Molly owns as part of an informal internal audit turned out to be sort of like a date. They shared lovely conversations, talking as if they had been friends or lovers for decades.

Molly did many sweet things for Arthur like buying him the bird painting and using her private jet to take him and his daughter to her soccer game so they wouldn’t be late. Meanwhile, Arthur opened up to Molly about his personal life and did little things that count, like noticing her squinting and offering his reading glasses. Even if they never get to pursue a romantic relationship, they get along so well as friends that they would be good to have in one another’s lives, even if just as platonic confidantes.

Nicholas And Molly

Molly and Nicholas have a business relationship, with Nicholas working as her assistant, giving him the benefit of being able to revel in all of Molly’s ridiculous extravagances on Loot. But they also have a tight bond that goes beyond the employer-employee dynamic. Nicholas genuinely cares about Molly’s interests while Molly leans on Nicholas when she needs everything from business assistance to a shoulder to cry on.

Whether it’s consoling her when she’s down, partying it up with her all over the world, or sticking by her side as she decides to work for a living, the pair have a unique friendship. It would likely continue even if Nicholas decided to pursue acting and move away from his current job. Chances are if he told Molly he wanted to do that, she would support him in the journey.

Nicholas And Howard

One of the sweetest budding friendships on the show and one that makes Loot one of the most exciting TV shows new to Apple TV+ in 2022, is between Nicholas and Howard. While Nicholas initially rebuffed Howard’s phone calls trying to get to know one another, he quickly realized that Howard was a good person he should be more open-minded and give him a chance.

From their scenes running lines together to Howard sending encouraging texts to Nicholas, urging him to pursue his dream to become an actor, there’s something special about them together. Howard might become an important person who drives Nicholas to be the person he wants to be and look for more out of life. Meanwhile, Nicholas gives Howard advice about his life, particularly his relationship, that has helped him through seemingly tough situations. What makes their friendship so great is that it was also one of the most unexpected on the show.

Jacinda And Molly

Molly and Jacinda might have a surface-level friendship, being there for one another to simply have a good time and support each other’s ventures. They love to gossip about others as well and share superficial conversations about materialistic things. There isn’t much to Jacinda, who represents an old lifestyle Molly might want to leave behind. She’s shallow and arrogant, which is everything Molly is learning not to be.

Nonetheless, there’s a history between them. While the friendship might not be a deep one, it’s a friendship, nonetheless, that could be put to the test as Molly gets her priorities in order and realizes what’s truly important in life.

Sofia And Molly

The friendship between Sofia – one of the best characters on Loot – and Molly got off to a rough start, with Sofia having to call her in to request that she behave more appropriately in public since her actions reflect on the charity. But while expectations were that Sofia would be predictably frustrated and angry with Molly coming in and trying to get involved, she instead embraced Molly and did everything she could to help her.

Meanwhile, instead of Molly coming in with an arrogant attitude and making everyone do what she said, she respected that Sofia was in charge and she let her continue to take the lead. Their business relationship blossomed into a friendship that is likely to continue to grow. It’s in large part because of the mutual respect the two very different women have for one another.

Rhonda And Ainsley

Ainsley and Rhonda seem like typical office friends who share details about their weekends and personal lives while waiting for coffee or having lunch in the break room. There’s nothing particularly notable about their friendship but it’s clear they lean on one another in the office, both as colleagues and fellow women. The cast, including these two characters, could make Loot one of the best Apple TV+ exclusive shows available in 2022.

Interestingly, while Ainsley is the younger of the two, she seems to be the more straight-laced whereas the older Rhonda might be the cookies, eccentric wilder one. Nonetheless, they pair well together, whether it’s working away at the office or enjoying after-hours events with the team.

Molly And Howard

Their friendship is almost non-existent, though Howard seems to think they are close since they are related by blood and used to hang out together when they were kids. While Molly doesn’t seem against the idea of having a friendship with Howard, there also isn’t any time or reason for the two to hang out.

Nonetheless, if Molly is having a tough time with things at the office or needs a voice of reason to help her through a situation, Howard is the one who will always tell it like it is. He feels he has a free pass to say what he wants since he’s family. But his typically open nature makes him a good person to have in her corner anyway, while Molly represents everything Howard wishes he could be one day.
