    Community Cleanup Day returns to Apple Valley

     

    Apple Valley, CA – August 17, 2021: Help keep Apple Valley the best place to live in the High Desert by volunteering at the upcoming Community Cleanup day on Sept. 18! The Town of Apple Valley is now accepting registrations from community service organizations, schools, churches, clubs, businesses, and individual volunteers for this community wide event.

     

    Registered teams are provided with cleanup supplies and assigned an area to clean. In return, participants will receive an event T-shirt and lunch, while supplies last. Volunteers must sign up by Sept. 1 to receive supplies, assignments and to complete a liability waiver.

    Joining the community wide effort, on the same day, the Town’s Community Enhancement staff will be stationed at Lion’s Park from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. to accept used tires free of charge. Tires with rims will be not be accepted and commercial dealers may not participate.

     

    From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., sharps, televisions, computers, and other household hazardous materials will also be accepted at the Town’s HHW Collection Facility, located at 13450 Nomwaket Road between Powhatan and Ottawa roads.

     

    Community Cleanup Day is made possible in part from the contributions of our community sponsors, including Apple Valley Choice Energy, Waxie Sanitary Supply, Apple Valley Pizza Factory, and the Mojave River Watershed Group.
