Apple Watch owners can quickly change and customize faces on any version of watchOS, but to take advantage of new additions, the Apple Watch should be updated. To ensure watchOS is up-to-date, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Watch App on the paired iPhone.
  2. Select General, and then Software Update.
  3. If watchOS is up-to-date, the user is notified. If not, the iPhone will download the new update and install it on the Apple Watch.

  1. Swipe left or right on the Apple Watch to see faces available on the device.

  1. Access the Watch app on the paired iPhone.
  2. Select My Watch at the bottom of the app.
  3. Select Edit next to My Faces.
  4. Select the Red Dash next to the Apple Watch faces that need to be removed.

  1. Tap on the Apple Watch firmly.
  2. Keep swiping right for the New window. Tap +.

  6. Press the digital crown to save the customization.

  1. Access the Shortcuts app on the paired iPhone.
  2. Select Automatic at the bottom of the app.
  3. Select + > Create Personal Automation > Time of Day.
  4. Select Sunrise or Sunset, and define the time accordingly.
  5. Select Next > Add Action.
  6. Search for Set Watch Face.
  7. Under Actions, search for Set active watch face to.
  8. Choose the desired Apple Watch Face for specific times.
  9. Under Actions, tap Next in the top right corner of the app.
  10. Disable Ask before Running, and confirm the selection by tapping Don’t Ask.
  11. Tap Done.

Change Watch Faces based on Location

To change Apple Watch faces based on location, follow these steps:

  1. Access the Shortcuts app on the paired iPhone.
  2. Select Automatic at the bottom of the app.
  3. Select + > Create Personal Automation > Arrive or Leave.
  4. Next to Location, select Choose.
  5. Choose the desired location by searching for it.
  6. Tap Next in the top right corner of the app.
  7. Tap Add Action, and search for Watch.
  8. Choose Set Watch Face.
  9. Under Actions, type Face for Set active watch face to.
  10. Choose the desired Apple Watch Face when arriving or leaving the specified location.
  11. Tap Next and then Done to complete the automation process.
