A fresh rumor on Tuesday claims that the Apple Watch Series 8 will include a new shade of (PRODUCT)RED, while otherwise it will remain largely the same as the Apple Watch Series 7. It’s also claimed that there won’t be a repeat of last year’s shipping delays.

Leaker ShrimpApplePro took to Twitter with information about the new Apple Watch Series 8, after tweeting about the iPhone 14.

In addition to a new shade of red, the Apple Watch Series 8 is expected to keep the casing sizes of 41mm and 55mm that the Apple Watch Series 7 introduced. The 55mm sizing likely refers to the Apple Watch Series 8 Pro edition, which is expected to be larger.

Interestingly, the rumor mentions that Apple will include more glue underneath the pull tab on the product boxes for both the Apple Watch Series 8 and iPhone 14 product line. The intent is to show that the box has been opened more clearly, potentially acting as an indicator for people buying used devices.

ShrimpApplePro shared one last detail in their series of tweets, saying that an Apple Watch Series 8 Pro model will arrive as a “One more thing” section of the September 7 “Far Out” event.

This Pro model, alongside a new Apple Watch SE, could be larger than older Apple Watches, with other rumors saying that it would require new bands that aren’t compatible with previous models.

So far, rumors point to Apple bringing a flat-sided design to the Apple Watch Series 8, with longer battery life, a faster SoC, and a new temperature sensor. Despite the changes, the model could have the same starting price of $399 as the Apple Watch Series 7.
