Apple Watch Ultra 2, iPad Pro, Apple Pencil Pro, more 9to5Mac

Joining some ongoing discounts on iPhone 16 Pro and M4 iPad Pro, today we are kicking things off with a particularly notable deal on Apple Certified Refurb Apple Watch Ultra 2 units. Regularly $799 and currently $679 from Apple, you can now land ‘pristine condition’ models at $580 – one of the best prices ever and one that might not last long. We also spotted new-open box Apple Pencil Pro back at $80 – also one of the best we have ever tracked – and a massive $1,000 price drop on the previous-generation M2 iPad Pro for today only. Those offers join a new low on this steel Apple Find My water bottle, SSDs for your iPhone, chargers, and more. All of that and more awaits below in today’s 9to5Toys Lunch Break.

‘Pristine condition’ Apple Certified Refurb Apple Watch Ultra 2 units hit one of the best prices ever today at $580 (Orig. $799)

Woot is now offering “pristine condition” Apple Certified Refurbished Apple Watch Ultra 2 units down at $579.99 Prime shipped. A $6 delivery fee will apply otherwise. You’ll find three Natural Titanium configurations down at this price today with the Blue, Orange, or White Ocean Bands. Regularly $799 in new condition, this is $219 off and among the best prices we have tracked, especially considering these are official Apple Certified Refurbished, according to Woot.

Woot specifically mentions that today’s deal deliver “Apple Certified Refurbished” units directly from California” in “pristine condition.” They are also said to include a full Apple 1-year warranty with all of the OEM accessories and are indeed Apple Care eligible. We very rarely see deals on refurbished Apple Watch Ultra 2 units that meet these standards down at $580.

For the record, you will find these exact three Apple Watch Ultra 2 configurations on the official Apple Refurbished Store right now, but they are all listed at $679, or nearly $100 more.

As ushered in by this week’s still live Best Buy Spring sale, we are tracking some deals on both brand new and open-box Apple Watch Ultra models, including both the Natural Titanium and Black models:

While all of the configurations listed above also include one the latest Apple Watch band releases that first debuted in fall of 2024, they are otherwise the same watch Woot has on sale here today but for quite a bit more. It is also worth pointing out that the open-box models are Geek Squad-verified. That’s a notable option for sure, but we are indeed talking about Apple Certified Refurbished units from Woot here today.

There’s no telling how long these deals might stick around for, so it is worth getting in there sooner than later if you’re interested.

It’s back: Apple Pencil Pro returns to one of its best prices to date at $80 (‘New-open box’)

The Amazon deal price for Apple Pencil Pro has now jumped up to $114, it is still fetching the full $129 at Best Buy, and Woot just brought back its particularly notable open-box offer. Alongside Apple Pencil 2 for previous-gen iPads down at $69.99, you’ll now find the latest Apple Pencil Pro on sale for $79.99 Prime shipped (a $6 delivery fee will apply otherwise).

Regularly $129, getting a chance to scoop up the flagship Apple Pencil Pro with built-in Find My at under $99 has become increasingly rare – we haven’t seen it go for less than that in more than a few months in brand-new condition.

We did catch Best Buy’s open-box listing with a full Apple warranty drop to $88 for a brief time recently, but that deal has since come and gone. It is now sitting $101.99 – not the sort of open-box number we would recommend jumping on.

However, Woot has now brought back its notable open-box offer to save the day. Landing on par with our previous mention from last week – it sold out quite quickly by the way – it says these units are in “new-open box condition” and “with at least 120 days remaining of the original Apple warranty, and will be packaged in their original Apple packaging.”

Here’s a quick reminder of the models Apple Pencil Pro is compatible with (you’ll need to look towards the older models or the Apple Pencil (USB-C) otherwise):

  • iPad Pro 13-inch (M4)
  • iPad Pro 11-inch (M4)
  • iPad Air 13-inch (M2 and M3)
  • iPad Air 11-inch (M2 and M3)
  • iPad mini (A17 Pro)

Massive $1,000 price drop hits Apple’s M2 iPad Pro for today only

Today only, as part of its Deals of the Day and now sitting alongside this week’s Best Buy Spring Sale event, we spotted a big-time clearance deal on the spec’d out 2TB 12.9-inch M2 iPad Pro. You’re looking at machine that carried (and still carries at Best Buy) a $2,199 list price down at $1,199 shipped – that’s $1,000 off the original list price.

We typically see this previous-generation M2 Pro at closer to $1,599 or so at Best Buy, which is, by the way, typically the best place to score big-time price drops on previous-generation iPad Pro units.

This clearly no M4 iPad Pro, but we are talking about one generation back here – Apple skipped over the M3 chip with its iPad Pro line. It also sports a USB-C port on the bottom (like all of the latest models) and the M2 chip that rested inside of the iPad Air right up until just a little over a month ago – it’s certainly not new or anything, but we are not talking about some entirely ancient piece of kit here.

For the record, a 1TB M4 iPad Pro carries a $2,299 list price and is currently on sale for $2,099 at Amazon where it has never sold for less than $1,999 in Space Black and $1,899 in Silver. Today’s deal is, in other words, $700 under the best price we have ever tracked on the comparable M4 machine – it’s clearly going to be a looooong time before we see the M4 in brand-new condition anywhere near the price we have here today.

All of that said, some folks just aren’t going to willing to spend this kind of cash on a previous-generation iPad, and we get it. So let’s quickly take stock of the best deals across the M4 lineup:

Amazon now offering some of the first deals on unlocked iPhone 16 Pro units at up to $175 off (1-yr. warranty, Renewed Premium)

As any avid 9to5Toys reader will know, we love our Amazon Renewed Premium iPhone deals, and some solid pricing is now starting to emerge on the latest iPhone 16 Pro models. While we have featured a ton of iPhone 15/Pro discounts, tracking down deals on unlocked iPhone 16 Pro models can be a tricky proposition – quality control, color options, a solid warranty, and so on – but Amazon’s Renewed Premium is one of the better sources and the iPhone 16 offers are now arriving. Check them out below.

While we have seen iPhone 16 models on Amazon for a little while now, most of them have come from third-party sellers or locked to specific service provider. They are, however, just starting to appear coming directly from Amazon in the form of the retailer’s Renewed Premium unlocked units – higher quality renewed devices with a full 1-year warranty attached.

As of right now, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus models are still mostly locked to service providers and are being sold by third-party storefronts without Amazon fulfillment, but the discounted Amazon listings for the iPhone 16 Pro are now ready to go:

You’re looking at up to $175 in savings here – that’s not really something you see everyday coming straight from Amazon with the Renewed Premium seal of approval either. With the uncertainty in the market right now, there’s no telling what prices might look like come September when the new iPhone 17 surfaces, but either way, as of right now you’re looking at some solid savings on the latest and greatest smartphone from Apple.
